Street Art, Blueprint Paintings
In 1994, I began to paint on blueprint drawings.
This was originally out of a need for free paper and finding them in dumpsters
was a dream come true. After painting on them, I then glued them on walls throughout
New York. Like the glued flower images, some lasted for months while others may
have lasted only a night. Many paintings were never photographed and remain only
as memories for those who saw them.
I still paint on blueprint paper whenever I can get my hands on some. I like the
contrast between the freedoms of paint and the structural rigidity of the designs on
blueprint. These blueprints are for army bases, office buildings, shopping malls,
university libraries and more recently, airports.
