Street Art, Seattle, 2001
I was in Seattle June of 2001 for the PhenomANON exhibit.
I created the work below specifically for this trip with the intent of gluing them on the
walls of the streets of Seattle. I ended up exhibiting many of them and only a few
made it into the streets. I did paste up many more flowers, though. Seattle has really
tough laws that prevent anyone from pasting up anything. If you loose your kitten
and you go around your neighborhood hanging an announcement, cops will fine
and/or arrest you. Seattle officials are trying to put into law a mandatory one
year sentence for first offenders!
I roamed the streets of Seattle at the wee hours of the morning to paste up
my flowers. The photos at the bottom are some of the things that made it up.
The Seattle Times wrote an article, "Gallery, guerrilla art a good mix" about the exhibit.
