Street Art, Willoughby Windows, Brooklyn, NY, 2009
Back in June of 2009 I was invited by Ad Hoc Art to participate in Willoughby Windows.
Ad Hoc got the building owners to donate a block's worth of empty storefronts on
Willoughby Street in Brooklyn where we were given access to mount our installations.
I decided to take a series of my abstract paintings on nautical maps, cut them into slices,
and weave them into new pieces... the results were then mounted right beneath the glass panes
of the entire storefront... in my case, the abandoned "Eyebrow Zone".
It was a ton of fun and essentially breathed life into an otherwise dark and dismal looking block.
